Making Glutinous Rice Wine at Home - Day 0, start the work - mixing rice with yeast/red yeast rice mixture

1. Use a clean container. I normally use a large ceramic/glass jars but in this documentary I use a large plastic container and a smaller glass jar for better photo shoots. Actually this plastic one is much easier and faster for the mixing. 
2. The yeast and red yeast rice blended powder. 
3. Sprinkle some into the base of the container. 
4. Sprinkle some onto the rice in the strainer. 
5. Use hands to thoroughly mixed the powder into the rice. 
6. Pour the well mixed rice into the container.
7. Use palm to flatten and compress the rice to get rid of air pockets. 
8. Sprinkle a little more powder on surface. 
*Repeat until all the rice are done.

Actually this plastic one is much easier and faster for the mixing. 使用一个干净的容器。我平日是用瓷器酒坛/ 玻璃瓶,但是为了方便记录我用了这个阔口的槊胶集装箱 (适合食物用)。其实这个槊胶集装箱很好用也能更快更容易将材料混合在一起。

2. The yeast and red yeast rice blended powder. 打成粉状的酵母和红谷米。

3. Sprinkle some into the base of the container. 将材料2洒在容器底部。

4. Sprinkle some onto the rice in the strainer.  将材料2洒在过滤盆。

5. Use hands to thoroughly mixed the powder into the rice. 用手将材料2和米饭均匀的混合在一起。

6. Pour the well mixed rice into the container. 将混合好的米饭倒入容器内。

7. Use palm to flatten and compress the rice to get rid of air pockets. 用手掌弄平米饭,施力将饭团之间的空气挤压出来。

8. Sprinkle a little more powder on surface. 再洒一层酵母/红谷米在米团上。

*Repeat until all the rice are done. 重复步骤4~8,直到所有米饭用完为止。
